Rare Vallauris La Rose barbotine cachepot in a naturalist four-leaf chrysanthemum-like form with green moss glaze and blue Sevres, cream interior, 16 cm high, 28 cm diameter, weight 2 kg, dating to ca. 1900–1910, in very good used condition with minor edge wear and a small foot nick.
Description from the seller
Beautiful cache-pot in naturalistic slipware shaped like 4 large cabbage/grape leaves in strong relief, typical of the Vallauris Art Nouveau school around 1895-1905.
Green mousse and blue Sevres enamel with an ochre mordoré border, leaf decoration, interior cream enamel.
4 feet formed by the leaves, veins incised by hand.
Dimensions: Height 16 cm, diameter 28 cm.
Impressed signature under the base "LaRose" handwritten, clearly legible (see photo 2 with enhanced contrast). The small loop visible between the a and the R corresponds to the tail of the a in a quick signature on soft clay, characteristic of La Rose productions.
Very good overall condition, minor wear on one foot and slight border wear (see photos), no cracks or restorations.
Rare model from the La Rose Manufacture in Vallauris, in the line of Massier.
