Description from the seller
Rare Ceramic Raku Wall Mask – Inger WEICHSELBAUMER (Scandinavian, born 1938)
Magnificent art ceramic bas-relief depicting a stylized face with Modernist and tribal influences.
Signed in relief "I. WEICHSELBAUMER", this wall piece is a rare and atypical work by the artist, usually known for her horse sculptures.
It perfectly brings together her technical craftsmanship
- Face in Raku: Smoky hues from the fire and fine characteristic craquelure.
- Geometric glazed background: Chevron graphics in turquoise, emerald green and golden reflections.
Décor idea: Its curved shape makes it easy to convert into a luminous wall appliqué to diffuse indirect lighting that will enhance the reliefs.
Dimensions: 27 x 38 cm
Technique: Art ceramics, glazing and Raku firing
Condition: Good original condition. Note two minuscule chips, very discreet, which do not alter the beauty of the work (last photo)
