Pair of two small carved alabaster vases in a classical/neoclassical style, each about 16 cm high, 8 cm wide and 8 cm deep, dating to 1940–1950, in good condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
A084 — Pair of Small Crater-Form Vases
DESCRIPTION
Elegant pair of small ornamental vases presumably made of alabaster, featuring warm ivory and honey tones, with natural pinkish and brown veining.
The two pieces have a classic crater shape, with a wide molded rim, turned and bulging body, shaped foot and square base. The craftsmanship highlights the stone's natural translucencies and color variations, making each example slightly different from the other.
The pair retains a pleasant patina of age and shows widespread signs of use, small chips and irregularities along the edges and bases, visible in the photographs and consistent with the age and delicacy of the material.
Era: presumably first half of the 20th century
Style: classic / neoclassical
Work: turned and shaped alabaster
Material: presumably alabaster
Dimensions: H 16 × L 8 × D 8 cm each
Conditions: Good condition. Signs of wear, small chips and surface irregularities, particularly along edges and bases, as visible in the photographs.
