Description from the seller
Rare and iconic ashtray / table ashtray with a hidden mechanism featuring a central cone, designed and produced by the celebrated Stilnovo manufactory (Milan, Italy) between the late 1950s and the 1960s.
This refined collectible object stands out for its sculptural and functional design typical of Italian Mid-Century Modern. The top part presents a concave funnel with a central cone topped by a chromed metal pull knob. The perimeter band features a satin/brushed finish with a visible hexagonal fixing element, while the heavy lower base ensures excellent stability.
Particularly important is the presence of the mechanism and the original paper label from the era on the base: "STILNOVO - MILANO - ITALY", a fundamental element that certifies 100% authenticity and greatly enhances the piece's collecting value.
Conditions: Good vintage and fully original condition. It shows a natural patina of time, with slight bloom and surface oxidations on the metal finish (as highlighted in the close-up photos), which attest to the piece’s age and authenticity without diminishing its sculptural charm.
