Beautiful writing desk with a drawer and a leather retractable top, made of solid mahogany and mahogany feather; interiors and frame also in mahogany. The furniture features a pull-out writing surface with contemporaneous leather, plus an upper drawer with mahogany interiors, evidence of the building quality of the Ligurian workshops of the 1800s. The base is supported by an elegant central shaft with four richly carved legs, carved with vegetal motifs and scrolls.
Dimensions cm h 75 x 55 x 35. Top: 54 x 39.
Louis-Philippe period (mid-19th century).
Origin: Italy.
In good overall condition as shown in the photos.
Beautiful as a decorative detail, usable in countless applications.
