Poraloid Theater
Seiichi Nomura
Scola/1996/Japanese/233*308*13
“Polaroid Theater / Poraloid Theater (With OBI),” a photo book by Japanese photographer Seiichi Nomura. Born in 1951. After graduating from the Tokyo College of Photography, he worked at an advertising agency. Seiichi Nomura has been active as a freelance photographer since 1973. While Nomura is best known for his photo spreads in weekly magazines and manga magazines, as well as his photobooks featuring actresses and idols, he has also worked on advertisements and record album covers, and directed the film *Natural Woman 2010*. This book is a collection of Polaroid works published in the 1990s. When viewed on their own, the glossy photos are typical of the genre—depicting so-called “beautiful women” in a beautiful light. However, when the same models are captured on Polaroid film, they reveal a sensual and uniquely captivating beauty reminiscent of Araki’s work. This is an irresistible collection for Polaroid enthusiasts. Includes a book jacket.
