Description from the seller

FIAT 124 SUPER AMERICA (1979)

GENERAL:
Fiat 124 Coupé Convertible (Spider) from 1979 in Super America version. This unit has been running regularly in recent years and has received many improvements for proper operation. The Super America designation is associated with versions intended for the U.S. market exported in the late 70s, characterized by equipping the 2.0-liter twin-cam engines (1995 cc) designed by Aurelio Lampredi and larger bumpers to meet North American safety regulations of the time. This model, whose iconic design was led by Pininfarina, stands out for its excellent dynamics, agile highway behavior, and a very elastic twin-cam engine that is fun to drive.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:
Painted in midnight blue combined with ivory interior and blue canvas top. Recently polished and showing a very good shine with barely any defects typical of use and aging. The top, which is relatively new, has a 10 cm crack. The rear window has good visibility.

UNDERBODY:
They are in good condition, but show some areas of surface rust, which are not worrying.

MECHANICS:
The powerful 2,000 cc engine runs very smoothly since during the restoration a tune-up was performed and all necessary parts were replaced for proper operation. Starts very well both cold and hot and, despite being idle for several months, starts without problems. Its 5-speed gearbox shifts smoothly and it is easy to engage any gear, making it very reliable for plans and giving very good driving sensations. As with most cars over 40 years old, it shows seepage but nothing worrying, nor oil leaks.

INTERIOR:
The interior was renewed a few years ago in bone-colored faux leather and practically shows no wear. The floor mats are in good condition and the entire dashboard is also in good condition.

DOCUMENTATION:
It has just passed the ITV with no remarks, indicating that everything is in order for the enjoyment of the car.

PICK-UP / DELIVERY:
The car is located in Madrid, Spain. If won, the seller offers 20 days of storage.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
