An impressive and monumental Art Deco vanity bowl from the famed Ikora-Kristall line of Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF), designed under the direction of Karl Wiedmann around 1930.

This bowl stands out for its exceptionally large size (diameter a full 33.2 cm) and an unusually strong color contrast. The piece is made using the complex Zwischenschicht technique: between the clear glass layers sits a multicolored decoration of metal oxides and powders. From the deep red / burgundy center emerges a star-shaped pattern that flows into a bright orange, fiery crackle network (Netzdekor).

The underside features the characteristic flat-ground and polished foot ring. As is customary with WMF Ikora glassware, the object is not marked in the glass; these pieces were at the time supplied only with a paper or gold foil vignette.

Condition:
In very good, pristine condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations. The edge is completely intact and the glass is clear. Only minimal, age-appropriate signs of use and sliding marks on the polished foot surface at the bottom.
