Hermès Caduceus – France - Working tool (2) - Antique Silver

A rare pair of antique French silver hairpins, dating from the second half of the 19th century.

Both pieces feature an elaborate caduceus-inspired design with intertwined serpents. One hairpin retains its particularly striking winged upper ornament, while the second is missing this upper element.

Decorated with the caduceus, the classical attribute of Hermes (Mercury), with intertwined serpents and a winged upper element.

Both pieces bear French silver hallmarks.
