Antique Rosewood Whist-box with Complete B. Dondorf Miniature Playing Cards & Bone Fiches – Period 1895-1905

Exclusive and rare antique playing set from the late 19th / early 20th century, in excellent collectible condition.

Playing box: Made from high-quality rosewood with a deep, warm gloss and fine grain. Equipped with the original brass hardware (key missing).

Fiche trays & Fiches: Contains 4 removable wooden boxes, each inlaid with an ivory/pearl symbol of the card suits. Fully complete with all original, authentic bone fiches (bovine bone).

Playing cards: A beautiful deck from the renowned German playing-card maker B. Dondorf (Frankfurt am Main). It concerns the rare dwarf or Patience format (approx. 4 x 6.1 cm) with the iconic symmetric blue back. The deck is in impeccable, undamaged condition.
