Description from the seller

Two large ecclesiastical candlesticks from circa 1940 to 1950, executed in Dutch Art Deco style with influences from the Amsterdam School.

The candlesticks have a heavy and architectural design, with wide bell-shaped bases, bowl-shaped candle holders, and decorative brass details. The dark patinated metal forms a beautiful contrast with the gold-colored accents. The design is reminiscent of the metalwork of Jan Eisenloeffel. This is a stylistic indication and not an official attribution.

On each candlestick there is a large decorative candle. These candles are hollowed out at the top so that a smaller candle can be placed in and replaced. Without a candle, each candlestick is 45 cm tall. With the large candle, the total height is about 107 cm. There is also a plate on which you can place an extra candle for the candlestick.

Both candlesticks have a lovely patina of age and normal signs of use, in keeping with their age and ecclesiastical origin. The candlesticks are offered as a set of two.
