AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A beautiful rust-free Mercedes 230 SL from 1966. American version with manual gearbox. We have had the car for 10 years but drive it too little. It runs easily with power steering and brakes. All inspections up to date. Viewable and drivable in Broek op Lolderdijk. Appraisal report (EUR 87,500) available.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The body is tight. The sheet metal aligns well. Good seams. No dings or rust or irregularities. The car was repainted some time ago (before we became the owners) and is still in very good condition. With a good gloss. No irregularities or filler marks. Doors and engine and trunk lid sit perfectly on the car. Chrome trim looks good. Summer roof still needs to be mounted. Includes a winter roof.

TECHNICAL: The car is 70 years old and shows normal signs of use. All functions work properly, such as power steering and brakes. The car remains at a good temperature. The radiator was replaced last year. All gauges work properly, up to the light in the glove compartment. The car brakes well and straight. It tracks true. The tires have sufficient tread depth. No vibrations. The car has always been maintained by a retired mechanic.

INTERIOR: Has normal signs of use. It is complete. No tears or holes. See also the photos. Automatic antenna. All instruments and switches work properly. The clock does not work.
There are 2 keys with the car. Mats are in good condition and not worn.

DOCUMENTS: There is a folder with invoices and previous work. We bought the car with this folder. I also added a number of parts myself, such as the steering column switch, door hinge, center console, chrome parts including front and rear bumpers, a few chrome trims. Rear light trims to be chromed (Samac!). Of course all license papers are complete. Tax-exempt. No MOT required.

COLLECT: Preferably in Broek op Langedijk. The car can be viewed on the bridge there. Test drive possible. All inspections allowed.

Other information: in 5 years we have driven only about 2,000 km. Too little time to make good use of it. The car sits with other cars in a warehouse and takes up (too) much space. The car is owned by 2 people and one wants to cash it out. Appraisal report of EUR 87,500 is available for inspection. Can also be emailed.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
