Charming pair of wrought iron chairs from the early 20th century with French origin. They feature a characteristic Art Nouveau design, with a backrest in the shape of scrolls, curved legs and round upholstered seats covered with a striped fabric in black on a beige background. Perfect for outdoor use, they will add a delicate and romantic air to any terrace or garden.

Art Nouveau is the term used for a movement in the arts that flourished between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its main aim was to create a youthful, new, freer and more modern art, a break with the dominant academicism of the time. To achieve this, it drew inspiration from nature, but also incorporated advances from the Industrial Revolution, especially new materials and techniques (steel, glass…). All of this is captured in a motto that could be understood as the movement’s slogan: the awareness that “the future has already begun.” It sought to integrate art into everyday life, breaking with historical styles. It is characterized by flowing lines, nature-inspired shapes such as flowers, stems or insects, and an organic design that conveys fluency and elegance. Its development was international, with variants such as German Jugendstil or Catalan Modernisme, although its origin lies in Belgium.
