Charming and refined fall-front desk (bureau de pente / bureau à cylindre) in the Louis XV style, richly worked with techniques of high-level cabinetry. The piece stands out for its splendid marquetry and geometric inlay in diamond patterns and contrasting grains (butterfly wing), executed in premium wood veneers. The top features a shaped hinged fall-front that opens to reveal an interior compartment (scarabottolo) ideal for storing documents and small objects. The furniture rests on four elegant, curved cabriole legs, typical of the period, enriched at the front knees with decorative appliqués in gilded or patinated bronze with floral motifs. A piece of furniture of great class, perfect to impart a touch of French classicism to a study or an elegant drawing room. General good condition with normal signs of time and age (carefully study the photos for details of patina and surface). An anti‑woodworm treatment is advised. Structurally solid.
