Description

Superb Art Deco sculpture representing two stylized antelopes in gallop, a classical revival by sculptor and ceramist Charles Lemanceau, one of the most sought-after artists of the 1925–1940 period.
The work is executed in white/cream glazed earthenware with a crackled glaze typical of Saint-Clément.
The piece bears:
• the molded signature “Lemanceau” on the base,
• the blue stamp “Clément / Made in France”,
• as well as a model number.

Elegance, dynamic lines, powerful volumes: a very fine example of French Art Deco ceramics.

• Length: 44 cm
• Height: 30 cm
• Depth: approx. 10 cm

Condition

Good general condition for a piece approaching a century old.
Presence:
• small signs of wear,
• micro-chips in the glaze,
• the original crackling visible over the entire surface (typical of Saint-Clément).
No breaks or visible restorations.

Authentication
• Molded Lemanceau signature.
• Saint-Clément manufacture stamp.
• Handwritten number under the base.
