Large wooden door - Dogon - Mali

An authentic and large 81 cm Dogon wooden door made of two panels fastened by metal staples at the top, center and bottom.

Among the Dogons, the crocodile is a sacred and highly respected totemic animal. It is considered the servant of Nommo. These animals live under the protection of the villagers.
This old door has been used.
On the left there is a hole through which a tie used to pass to close it. You can see wear on the edge of the door.
It remains in good condition despite its age.
It is very heavy and sturdy; it weighs more than 7 kilograms.
