An authentic, conserved Psittacosaurus lujiatunensis skull specimen from the Lujiatun Beds of the Yixian Formation in Liaoning, China, dating to the Early Cretaceous about 125 million years ago.
Description from the seller
An impressive and very well-presented fossil skull of Psittacosaurus lujiatunensis, an early ceratopsian dinosaur from the famous Lujiatun Beds of the Yixian Formation in Liaoning, China.
Psittacosaurus was a small, herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous, about 125 million years ago. Although this species is an early relative of later horned dinosaurs such as Triceratops, Psittacosaurus was considerably smaller and possessed a distinctive parrot-like beak.
The specimen features an impressive, three-dimensionally preserved skull with clearly recognizable anatomical features, including the characteristic beak, the orbit region, and the jaw structure. The fossil retains a large portion of its original anatomical form, making it an especially attractive object for a serious dinosaur collection.
