Cookie jar - Glass - Antique glass biscuit jar

Splendid and authentic Art Nouveau biscuit bucket (seau à biscuits) from the era (Liberty style), dating to the late 19th / early 20th century (circa 1890–1910), of refined French artistic craftsmanship. The bulging body is made of fine satin glass, hand-decorated throughout with raised enamel motifs depicting botanical floral designs in pink and green tones, typical of the era’s naturalistic production (attributable to the celebrated French glass school of Legras / Saint-Denis). The sumptuous upper mounting, equipped with a coordinated lid and two large elaborated side handles, is made in pewter (or period artistic alloy), richly ornamented with organic volutes and foliate motifs in perfect Liberty style. Condition perfect, no chips and the paintwork impeccable, as shown in the images.
