Description from the seller

Elegant pair of candlesticks composed of vermeil (gilded sterling silver) mounts and pale green onyx bodies, produced by the renowned Belgian silversmithing house Wolfers Frères S.A., Brussels.

The mounts are marked with the Belgian oval “A925” standard mark for sterling silver together with the shield-shaped WW maker’s mark with boar’s head, attributed to Wolfers Frères, one of Belgium’s most important 20th-century luxury jewellers and silversmiths.

The candlesticks feature a refined architectural form with finely chiselled silver mounts and sculptural swan motifs decorating the base. The combination of stone and vermeil mounts reflects the refined decorative silver production associated with the Wolfers workshop.

Condition: very good, with well-preserved gilding and no significant wear visible.

Height 20 cm, total weight 630 g.

A refined decorative pair from a prestigious Brussels silversmithing house.
