Cutlery set for 6 - .800 silver

Tea or coffee set for 6 people, of German manufacture from the late 19th / early 20th century. The set is entirely made of solid silver with an 800 fineness and is enriched with very high-level artisanal finishes. The service consists of 6 coordinated tea/coffee spoons, with refined floral relief details on the handle and the inner bowl entirely gilded by fire (Vermeil). Important sugar-tongs (or ice tongs) coordinated. The centerpiece of the tongs is the extraordinary twisted stem that ends with sculpted bird-claw-like ends gripping a head of a mythical creature/grotesque dragon, typical of the historicist taste of the period. Each single piece is regularly stamped with the post-1888 German marks: the Crescent Moon (Halbmond), the Imperial Crown (Krone) and the 800 fineness, guaranteeing the authenticity and purity of the precious metal. Also present is the silversmith’s factory mark. Material: Solid Silver 800 and Gold (Vermeil). Era: Late 19th century / Early 20th century (Late Victorian / Edwardian). Number of pieces: 7 total (6 spoons + 1 tongs). Total weight 79 grams (verified on a digital scale). Excellent vintage condition. The silver presents its original patina of the time that enhances the sculpted reliefs. The internal vermeil gilding is splendidly preserved.
