Description from the seller
Grand complete Limoges porcelain table service with gilding, mid-XX century (LOT 1)
Description:
Grand complete service of authentic Limoges porcelain, dating from the first half of the 20th century (late Art Deco period or mid-20th century, between the 1930s and 1950s).
This neoclassical, bourgeois-inspired service is distinguished by timeless refinement, combining traditional curvaceous shapes with an elegant gilded border on the rims (blending Kashmiri-style motifs and lace) and delicate gold floral sprigs scattered in fine gold dust across the entire basin of the pieces. The green back stamp on the porcelain attests to its origin and noble manufacturing.
Composition of the service (31 pieces):
- 12 flat plates (diameter: 24 cm)
- 6 soup plates (diameter: 22.4 cm)
- 6 small plates (diameter: 22 cm)
- 1 large tureen with its lid (32.5 x 18 cm)
- 1 large oval dish (26 x 26 cm)
- 1 large round dish (diameter: 29.8 cm)
- 1 small circular dish on a foot (22 x 4.8 cm)
- 1 small circular dish on a foot, hollow (22.5 x 6 cm)
- 1 gravy boat attached to its saucer (19 x 8.5 cm)
- 1 meat plate (24 x 14 cm)
Condition:
Excellent condition for the majority of pieces, with porcelain retaining its full shine.
The gilding is overall well preserved with light, occasional wear on some pieces.
