Silver-plated wine/champagne cooler – Pierre Bognon (PB + hammer) – Paris – circa 1921–1925 – approximately 1665 g – 24 cm high
Elegant silver-plated wine or champagne cooler, made by Pierre Bognon, active at 7 rue de Saint-Sébastien, Paris between 1921 and 1925.
The piece bears the clear master mark “PB” with a hammer, as documented in the French silver marks registers for métal argenté.
The cooler has a classic form with a fluted rim, graceful handles, and a beautifully polished finish. A typical example of early 20th-century French table silverware, used in better hotels, restaurants and brasseries.
Vintage condition, with signs of wear appropriate to age.
