Vintage Steinhauer Apeldoorn retractable pendant lamp – smoked glass and metal – Space Age / 70s

A particularly stylish vintage retractable pendant lamp from Steinhauer Apeldoorn, a well-known Dutch lighting manufacturer. The original brand sticker is still present and clearly legible: Steinhauer – Verlichtingsindustrie – Apeldoorn.

The lamp has a characteristic design from the second half of the 20th century, very fitting within the 60s/70s, Space Age and mid-century modern styling. The combination of the large round smoked glass shade, the glossy dark/chrome-colored central metal section and the black pull mechanism gives the lamp a strong retro look.

A key feature is the retractable pendulum system. Through the spiral construction the lamp can be easily hung higher or lower. Ideal above a dining table, where the light can be directed closer to the tabletop as needed.

The large round glass shade creates a beautiful horizontal form and mainly disperses the light downward. The tinted glass panel also gives the lamp an elegant, almost futuristic appearance.

The lamp has been tested and is functioning, as shown in the photos.
