Teapot - .800 silver

The item shown in the photo is a vintage crystal blown or molded pitcher/teapot with finishes in 800 silver (as clearly indicated by the blue mark “Arg. 800/000”).

The round seal on the glass (“CRISTAL R...”) certifies the use of hand-cut crystal, a form of artistic production very common in Italy (in particular in the historic districts of Tuscany such as Empoli or Colle di Val d’Elsa) during the 1960s and 1970s. This specific teapot model, with an internal glass infuser/ice chamber, was often assembled by renowned Italian silversmiths (such as the Florentine manufacturer Del Bono Giovanni or similar craft workshops).
