Antique French Napoleon III jewellery box dating from around 1860–1890, made of gilt brass with a bevelled glass lid, blue background with pierced foliate decoration, on four feet, measuring 9 × 6 × 4 cm.

Antique French Napoleon III Jewellery Box– 19th Century
Elegant French jewellery/trinket casket dating from the second half of the 19th century, approximately 1860–1890.
The box features an ornate gilt brass body with pierced foliate decoration over a deep blue background, standing on four decorative feet. The hinged lid is fitted with a beautiful thick bevelled glass panel decorated with delicate etched floral motifs.
The interior retains its old blue-green silk/satin lining and padded cushion, showing considerable age-related deterioration. The gilt metal displays natural patina and wear consistent with age.
The piece has been left unrestored, preserving its antique character and original appearance.
Origin: France, attributed
