Description from the seller

GENERAL:
BMW - 318 Cabriolet - 1992. Approximately 110,000 kms. Beautiful BMW convertible, a 92 jewel, spectacular and pristine. A car to be able to use all year round. Car imported from Germany in 2012 according to the documentation. Bought in Madrid from a private seller in August 2012, with the sales contract available. The car has been off the road since 2023. Designed under the direction of Claus Luthe by Boyke Boyer, the BMW 3 Series E30 Cabriolet is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and sought-after four-seat convertibles of its era, famed for its clean silhouette with no B-pillar and for being the first fully BMW-developed convertible built in its own facilities after decades of external collaborations.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The paint is immaculate, with a small mark on the driver’s door in white. The rest is 9/10. It is just as I bought it, repainted and perfectly polished. The window rubbers are hard and cracked. The driver’s door makes a bit of noise when opening and closing, the others are perfect. The electric roof needs a refresh.

MECHANICS:
Equipped with the reliable 1.8-liter BMW engine, it starts first time, both cold and hot. Although the original ad mentions a carburetor, this 1992 model left the factory with the M40 engine with electronic fuel injection of the period. In terms of mechanicals with no apparent issues, the suspension is the standard M lowered version, from factory and documented. The rest has no problems, tires with few kilometers, belts and clutch without issues. Needs a new battery, radiator inspection, and a general tune-up after being off the road since 2023.
The car needs a mechanical tune-up after so much time parked.

INTERIOR:
Originally cloth, it was changed to leather, entire carpeting and seats. Being leather, the seats have some marks that can be seen in the photos, the side of the driver’s seat reupholstered. Dashboard without cracks and in good condition. The gauge cluster lights do not all work. The odometer needs to be checked, as it fails, it does not display speed or kilometers. Power windows work perfectly. Central locking is disconnected and you have to open the doors with the key.

DOCUMENTATION:
Vehicle imported from Germany in 2012 and registered. Bought in Madrid from a private seller in August 2012, with the sales contract available. It includes the lowered M suspension noted in the technical documentation.

COLLECTION:
Local pickup in the municipality of Cartagena, Region of Murcia, Spain.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The vehicle requires a refresh of the electric roof, a new battery, repair or replacement of the odometer, radiator inspection, and a mechanical tune-up after being stationary since 2023.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
