Elegant nutcracker from the renowned Danish silver craftsman Georg Jensen, from the classic pattern "Old Danish" (also called "Dobbeltriflet"), designed in 1947 by Harald Nielsen. The pattern is regarded as one of the most representative Georg Jensen flatware patterns and is still used by the Danish royal household.
The two handles are made of solid 925 sterling silver, with the characteristic twice-ridged edge of the Old Danish pattern. The functional head with serrated jaws for cracking nuts is made of stainless steel – a material combination typical for Georg Jensen when using silver.
Punctuation/marking: "STERLING" as well as the maker's mark Georg Jensen, Denmark. The piece was professionally appraised by Kunsthandel Bursch (Munich) and confirmed as an authentic Georg Jensen piece.
