Crowned Women is a work dedicated to the strength, dignity and female identity.
Five women are depicted side by side. They do not need to be recognized through their faces: their presence is enough.
Their black heads, crowned with elaborate graphic shapes, evoke a sort of symbolic crown. These are not real crowns, but a sign of belonging, memory and authority.
They are women who do not ask for permission to occupy their space.
They stand up, proud, silent and monumental.
The gold background amplifies this sensation. Gold has traditionally been associated with light, wealth and prestige, but in the work it takes on mainly the meaning of inner value: the true wealth of the protagonists is not material, but resides in their identity.

The title Crowned Women – “Donne Incoronate” – encapsulates the heart of the work.
