Turkmenistan origin, model Exclusieve Teke Buchara - Gereinigd, a hand-knotted wool-on-wool carpet measuring 391 cm by 279 cm, dating from the mid 20th century, in generally good condition and professionally cleaned, with a certificate.
Description from the seller
-- Special & beloved Teke Bukhara, large & impressive rug full of stories - semi-antique and in good condition
-- Professionally cleaned*
-- approx. 560,000 knots per m² (!!!)
-- With Certificate
*Before entering our warehouse, cleaned at a laundry specialized in hand-knotted rugs, then not used again.
This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity of patterns make this rug a one-of-a-kind piece and highlight its authentic, artisanal character. It is an excellent used rug with an extremely long lifespan.
This is a lightly used, cleaned rug that can be laid down as is. A special & beloved piece, a very finely knotted centerpiece. Hand-knotted in Turkmenistan, by the Teke tribe(s). Comparable to the better-known Yomut, but even more exclusive. These Tekes did not knot rugs as often as the larger Yomut tribes. This makes it rarer and full of stories, open to your own interpretation. A wonderful rug made of 100% wool, hand-knotted somewhere between 1930 and 1950 and still in unusually good condition for its age.
Main color: Red
Accent colors: Cream and shades of brown and blue
Notable features: Rich abrash (natural color differences); Much sheen; Clean and fresh; Beautiful luster; Depending on viewing angle the rug has a lighter and a darker side; Rare object; Finely knotted; Large & impressive rug full of stories; 100% wool.
Signs of use: Minimal, barely visible signs of use, inevitable on rugs of this age.
