Less well known than Emile Gallé or Daum but appreciated by connoisseurs, Jean-Simon Peynaud (1869-1952) was a glassmaker from Bordeaux, who notably worked at the Jules Vieillard factory in Bordeaux.
This collector's piece is particularly remarkable for its use of the acid-etched multi-layer glass technique, whereas the majority of Peynaud's productions are simply enameled glass.
