AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Impressive frame made in carved wood, chiselled, plastered with plaster and gilded in fine gold, dating from the early 1900s. Scenic beautiful in appearance and form; its greatest merit is the molded profile with multiple orders, carved, rich in chasing and the reticulated band.

The front presents rich relief decorations meticulously handmade by master artisans of the era, with phytomorphic motifs and volutes at the corners and in the central zones interspersed with ornamental chased elements. These decorations give the sensation of viewing a splendid floral-and-leaf interlacing volutes that swirl around the corners of the frame and the central cascading areas.

Suggestive is the central band decorated with a reticulation or lozenges (also defined as "honeycomb").

The inner band is finished with red velvet (textile passe-partout), which creates an elegant chromatic contrast with the gilding and enhances the brightness of the painting.

refined is the outermost stepped area, characterized by a braid-like incision all around the frame.

The gilding shows a warm and homogeneous patina with slight signs of time and minimal wear at the points of greatest projection.

A frame of notable impact, a masterpiece capable of enriching and contextualizing important works, contributing significantly to their aesthetic presentation. Ideal for museums, galleries and apartments.
