Introduced in 1967, the Minolta SR-1s stands as the ultimate refinement of the foundational SR-1 line before the electronic era took over. It is a monumental piece of photographic history, bringing the classic, rugged durability of the original SR-1 and upgrading it with a faster 1/1000s maximum shutter speed. Known for its mechanical purity and elegant design, it remains a favorite among purists who appreciate a truly tactile, uncluttered shooting experience.

The defining feature of the SR-1s is its beautiful, battery-free simplicity. Designed without an internal light meter, it relies entirely on the photographer's eye or an external meter (it was designed to seamlessly accept Minolta's clip-on SR meter). Without the distraction of an internal needle, it offers a remarkably clean, bright viewfinder and a direct, mechanical connection to the photographic process. It is a workhorse built to last lifetimes, and it serves as the perfect gateway to Minolta’s spectacular lineup of vintage Rokkor lenses.

The camera body is in excellent working condition: shutter speeds fire correctly and the advance lever is smooth. The metal body shows minimal wear for its age, retaining its classic vintage charm.

Photographed in natural light to highlight the crisp lines and mechanical beauty of the camera body. This piece has been carefully stored in my collection and remains fully usable.

I feel it's time to find her a new home with someone that can take care of her and put her to good use.
