A charming pair of antique wooden shoe-form snuff boxes, handcrafted in Europe during the second half of the 19th century (circa 1860–1900).

Carved from solid wood, these boxes are fashioned in the shape of traditional shoes or clogs, a whimsical and highly collectible form commonly associated with European snuff boxes of the period. Such pieces were produced in several countries, including France, Germany, the Netherlands, and other parts of Europe, making a precise attribution difficult without maker's marks.

The larger box features a sliding wooden lid and displays a beautiful warm patina acquired through decades of use and age. The smaller example is similarly hand-carved, stands on small feet, and retains its original lid fitted with a small aluminum pull handle, adding both functionality and character. Its darker finish further enhances its folk-art appeal.

These authentic treenware objects are attractive examples of 19th-century European craftsmanship and would make a fine addition to a collection of snuff boxes, folk art, treen, tobacco-related antiques, or curiosities.
