Description from the seller

Three-piece desk ensemble in classic English Regency style, probably manufactured in Europe around 1950–1975.

The set consists of a spacious writing desk with three drawers, a wooden armchair with an upholstered seat, and a large display cabinet.

The writing desk features a rectangular brown leather writing surface with blind-embossed floral border decoration. The top rests on two gracefully shaped trestle legs connected by a turned wooden crossbar. At the front are three drawers.

The armchair has curved armrests, turned front feet, and an open-worked backrest. The seat is upholstered in a neutral gray-green fabric.

The monumental cabinet comprises a closed lower section with three separate paneled doors and an upper section with three glass doors and shelves. The classic hardware is brass-toned.

The full ensemble has been in the same Belgian family for three generations. There are no visible marks or makers’ labels found. Based on the construction, machine-made joinery, drawer bottoms, and fastenings, the ensemble is cautiously dated to the mid-20th century. It is offered as a high-quality vintage-style ensemble and not as 19th-century antique.

Condition:

The ensemble is in good, used vintage condition, with normal signs of aging and wear.

The wood shows localized small scratches, discolorations, and wear. On the front of the right-hand desk drawer there are clearly visible scratches and damage to the finish. The drawer is complete and functional.

The leather writing surface shows wear, color variations, impressions, and visible seams or older repairs. The chair upholstery shows light signs of use. The glass of the cabinet is intact.

Due to its size and weight, the ensemble is offered for pickup in Kortrijk, Belgium only. The buyer is responsible for sufficient manpower, suitable transport, and protective materials. The cabinet can be disassembled into two parts for transport.
