An exceptional and highly symbolic ceremonial piece of West African court art, a large prestige ceremonial spoon with Senufo/Bambara influence from the mid-20th century, measuring nearly 60 cm. This object stands out for its rarity: it bears a complete masculine figure of a patriarch or clan chief, whereas the majority of these ritual vessels traditionally celebrate female power.
Figurative handle: an anthropomorphic representation of a standing male figure whose legs form a robust arch anchored directly to the bowl.
