Description from the seller

It is a Trumeau (or Double Body) with a Ribalta in Barocchetto style, probably Italian-made in the mid-20th century.

Upper Section: Shaped display cabinet with sinuous profiles. The interior was veneered (often in velvet or damask silk) and was typical for displaying silverware or precious porcelain.

Central Section: The ribalta (the inclined writing surface that opens up) is the heart of the piece. If it is burl wood, the natural grain creates a highly prized mirrored effect.

Lower Section: Sinuous chest of drawers that follows the curved line of the furniture.

Wood: The burl suggests a piece of high cabinetmaking, intended for formal settings.

Prestigious double-bodied piece in Barocchetto style, finely veneered in precious burl with contrasting grains.

Measurements cm: 205 h x 63 wide (widest point, crest) x 38 deep
