Magnificent and rare export porcelain Chinese bowl from the Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Emperor period (c. 1736-1795), decorated in the Famille Rose palette.
This is a piece of exceptional artistic quality and unusual design, characterized by the alternating of two main decorative motifs on the exterior body:
Mandarin Scenes (Mandarin Palette): Meticulously detailed court scenes depicting dignitaries (mandarins) and their attendants on terraces and in gardens.
Gilt-ground Panels: Contour cloud-like panels with beautiful paintings of stylized flowers and birds, framed on a delicate geometric pattern elaborated in gold leaf (gilt diaper pattern).
The interior features a fine decorative garland along the rim with the classic spearhead motif in gold and iron-red, accompanied by a hand-painted floral spray in the background.
