Table lamp - Caryatid - Metal

Neoclassical-inspired desk lamp representing a caryatid, a female figure carved with a tunic that serves the architectural function of supporting a weight on its head.
The figure holds a kind of capital or vessel on which the lamp holder rests.
The dark body is made of cast bronze or calamine on a veined alabaster base.
Late 19th century - Early 20th century.
