An original rack made by the Tomado company in the Netherlands in the 1960s.
See the stamped trademarks "Tomado Holland" on both the supporting frames and the shelves.
It consists of 8 parts, 2 black frames, 3 shelves (1 gray, 1 yellow, 1 red) and 3 white book supports. The weight is about 1.5 kg.
The overall dimensions l x w x h: 48 x 13 x 61 cm.
The book supports can be shifted from left to right, and can also be removed entirely.
The shelves are interchangeable, so color and spacing can be varied.
The rack is in good used condition. Original varnish, and nowhere updated.
The usual signs of aging are visible.

It has been neatly cleaned and is ready for use.
Assembly is very simple.

The Tomado company was founded in 1923 in Dordrecht by the Van der Togt brothers.
Tomado stands for Van der TOgt Massa Artikelen DOdrecht.
Originally it was a small company that manufactured simple copper wire wallpaper hooks, with which photos could be hung on the wallpaper. After the Dutch Association of Housewives gave the little company the assignment to develop a metal draining rack, it began to grow and a factory was soon opened in Zwijndrecht. After World War II began the reconstruction period in which Tomado products symbolized the modern household. They became very popular, also in Belgium, and almost every household owned one or more Tomado products. Due to the brand’s popularity, the company grew rapidly in the 1950s.
