Unique LEGO MOC of the Dutch NS Koploper, about 1.5 meters long
Offered is a unique, fully self-designed MOC of the famous Dutch NS Koploper. This characteristic railcar has driven around the Netherlands for many years and is a recognizable and beloved model for many train enthusiasts.
The railcar consists of:
one leading car;
two intermediate cars;
one trailing car.
A lot of attention has also been paid to the interior. The compartments are fitted with seats and tables. In addition, there is a coffee machine, so several recognizable details can be discovered inside as well.
The complete railcar is about 1.5 meters long and built to a scale of approximately 1:38. This makes the model fit well with LEGO minifigures. The train is therefore not only a special collectible object, but can also be excellently placed in a large LEGO city, a rail diorama, or an extensive train collection.
The train has been tested and can run with both:
LEGO RC control;
LEGO 9V control.
In 2018 the model with RC control was part of a diorama by Brickfreaks Leerdam. In 2024 the train was re-exhibited, this time with 9V control. Footage of this can be found on the YouTube channel of Brickfreaks Leerdam (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaPRRDyOQPM around 5:10).
For the build, a combination of new and used original LEGO parts was used. There is no construction manual or instructions for this model. The design is entirely self-made and thus a unique specimen.
After many years of enjoyment as part of the collection, this special Koploper may now change hands. A beautiful object for enthusiasts of Dutch trains, LEGO trains, and unique MOC models.
