Jacques Adnet - Coaster (2) - Steel - Geometric design

This is a very stylish and sleek-looking folding coaster made of silver-plated metal. It has a subdued appearance, making it suitable for any table style. This means you can adjust the size, and with all the small ball feet the coaster is well balanced and sturdy. As is often the case, there are no maker's marks, but this is attributed to the master designer, Jacques Adnet.

Jacques Adnet (April 20, 1900 – October 29, 1984) was a French Art Deco–Modernist designer, architect, and interior designer. Jacques Adnet, an icon of luxury French modernism, rose to prominence in the 20th century. He attended the Municipal School of Design in Auxerre and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometric simplicity. Jacques Adnet drew inspiration from pre-classical styles and was well versed in traditional furniture.

This coaster is great because it can be folded when not in use, so it doesn’t take up much space. Both are in very good vintage condition, fully functional.
