Stunning Chinese porcelain plate from the Qianlong period (1736-1795), hand-painted under a bright, luminous cobalt blue glaze.
The basin is adorned with a symbolic botanical composition featuring bamboo and blooming lotus flowers emerging from the water. The rim presents a rich geometric decoration rhythmically punctuated by plum blossom motifs, scrolls, and a cross-hatch frieze (cracked ice / honeycomb). The edge is highlighted by a coffee (chocolate) border typical of 18th-century export productions.
On the reverse, the porcelain reveals a slightly bluish glaze (Qingbai-type), firing specks (“palm tree eyes”) and a ring foot left raw.
