Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Brutalist cylindrical side table with an oak-veneer top (56 cm diameter) and a veneered cylindrical base on a round oak-veneered foot, 59 cm high, 56 cm wide, made in the Netherlands in the early 1970s, in good used condition with minor signs of age and some stains.
Description from the seller
Highly decorative and functional side table. The table features an oak-veneered top with a diameter of 56 cm, and rests on an oak-veneered plywood cylinder. The cylinder has a diameter of about 20 cm. The table sits on a thick round base with a diameter of 37 cm. This base is also made of oak-veneered plywood. The whole thing stands on four solid oak rectangular feet. The overall height is 59 cm.
The table dates from the early 1970s. The style could be described as Brutalist. No-nonsense. Very stylish, without frills; minimalist and geometric; typical characteristics of Brutalism.
The table is still in good condition. At the bottom, some veneer has lifted, and there is also a small piece of veneer missing on the base (see photos). Because the top is attached to the stem with nails, there is a bit of movement here. You could fix this attachment with screws; then the table would be perfectly tight again.
The wood still looks good. It is varnished. Here and there there are a few stains and scratches, but that is actually minimal. For a side table of over 50 years old, it looks very good! It sits well in a vintage setting, but would not be out of place in a classic interior either!
The table will be carefully packed and shipped insured.
