Ancient Roman mosaic glass bead of rounded cuboid form from the 2nd–3rd century AD, in translucent dark olive-green glass with cream/white circular eye motifs and red centres, featuring a central suspension hole; dimensions 1.4 cm × 1.4 cm × 1.2 cm, weight 2.20 g, condition good, authentic/original, acquired in 2017 from a German auction house.

Ancient Roman mosaic glass bead with multiple eye motifs.
A distinctive glass bead of rounded cuboid form, made from translucent dark olive-green glass and decorated with multiple applied circular eye motifs. The decorative elements consist predominantly of cream/white circular patterns with red centres.
The bead has a central perforation for suspension. The glass becomes noticeably translucent green when illuminated. The surface shows age-related wear, deposits and weathering, while the decorative motifs remain clearly visible. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
