Splendid and large Chinese wooden decorative panel, finely handcrafted, dating from the end of the Qing Dynasty (19th century). This type of ornamental piece was originally used as an architectural frieze or a prestige element within aristocratic furnishings.

Lower part (high relief): It features a rich series of deep carved designs in gilded and polychrome wood. The scenes depict human figures in traditional clothing, dignitaries, warriors and horses, typical of representations of folklore and classical Chinese opera.

Upper part (red lacquer): The surface lacquered in cinnabar red with elegant graphite-line incisions. The drawings show children playing in a garden, a traditional motif that symbolizes prosperity, joy and the blessing of a numerous and fortunate offspring.
