E. Leitz Wetzlar Bidoxit 6×30 binoculars, a rare early Bidoxit variant from around 1938–1939, tested and working, in good cosmetic and mechanical condition with slight fungus under the glass visible as a small dark spot when viewed, 1 item, Germany origin.
Description from the seller
E. Leitz Wetzlar Bidoxit 6×30 rare binoculars from the 1930s (pre-/WWII). The binoculars are cosmetically and mechanically decent for their age. Focusing runs well and the construction is solid. There is some fungus under the glass present, which is not unusual and appropriate for the age of this vintage binocular (see last photo). This is visible as a small black speck when you look through the binocular.
Based on serial number 524533 this specimen was very likely produced around 1938-1939, thus pre-WWII. This makes it an early and collectible Leitz binocular.
The Bidoxit version is an early and less common variant within the Leitz 6×30 series. This designation was used only for a short time (late 1930s), resulting in significantly fewer units produced than the later and much more common Bidox.
What is special about this model:
- Early E. Leitz Wetzlar production (Leica group)
- Bidoxit prism system: compact and optically high-quality
- 6×30 configuration, favored by professionals and military users
- Pre-/WWII version, collectible
