This unique 2 oz silver coin is part of the “TechStalgic” series – a tribute to the devices that carried our voices and dreams.
This time: the Walkman.
Introduced in 1979, the Walkman was created to allow people to experience music privately and on the go. Music was no longer tied down. No longer restricted. It became a global phenomenon throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
It was freedom. It was solitude and rebellion. It was youth captured in headphones. Private galaxies of longing and intensity.
The Walkman became a tool for self-expression: the mixtape inside was a reflection of who you were and what you felt. Lovers sharing a pair of headphones – a cable connecting two souls.
The coin captures this memory in its design, featuring a Silk Finish with elements of Proof detailing. It comes presented in a display case together with its Certificate of Authenticity.
