Girodon & Montet, established in Lyon, known for producing portable heaters, braziers and pocket or carriage fireplaces (chaufferettes) at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th.
This model in particular (the patented Stoker system) mainly operated by a burner or lit coal/embers block that was inserted inside. The heat rose to the upper metal plate to keep plates, teapots or food containers warm in the dining room.
