Etruscan/Italic solid bronze votive figure (Ex-Voto) dating to c. 6th–3rd century BC, 78.3 mm high and 30 g in very good condition, acquired from a French auction house in 2026 with provenance via an antique market in France since 1970, presented on a custom 3D‑printed display block.
Description from the seller
Etruscan/Italic Bronze Votive Figure (Ex-Voto)
Specifications:
Culture: Etruscan / Italic (Central Italy).
Period: c. 6th - 3rd Century BC.
Material: Solid Bronze.
Dimensions: Height 78.3 mm (excluding custom display block).
Weight: 30 grams.
Description:
An authentic ancient bronze votive figure (ex-voto), typical of the highly stylised, flat, and elongated production characteristic of Etruscan and Italic sanctuaries in Central Italy. These schematised figures were created specifically as religious offerings.
Condition Report:
The artifact is an authentic ancient bronze. The surface exhibits heavy, deep corrosion and substantial earth/mineral encrustations consistent with long-term burial in aggressive soil conditions. Despite the severe surface wear, the core metal (at 30 grams) remains dense and structurally stable. There are no signs of modern tooling or artificial repatination.
Presentation:
The votive figure is offered with a custom-designed 3D-printed presentation block, crafted to safely nest and display the corroded bronze.
Provenance & Expertise:
Acquired on the European art market. Evaluated and confirmed authentic by Mr. Daniel Lebeurrier (Expert in Ancient Art).
