Pendulum clock - Junghans Wiener Secession Wood, Brass - 1910-1920

JUNGHANS walnut clock - Ortega model (see catalogue 1912).

A rare model in this condition.

14-day mainspring movement - ref 135 - stamped B11 (second half of 1911) - strike on GONG.

The movement has been serviced and runs perfectly. Sold with its key.

The clock features a magnificent original patina. The exterior elements and the case have undergone light cleaning - no restoration. No major defects to report - only a slight dent on the upper rear left is to be noted - it is however not visible when the clock is viewed from the front. The beveled glass is original and in perfect condition.

The silvered copper dial displays a magnificent patina, with no unattractive oxidation stains. It has not been restored.

This type of clock fits perfectly with its era and shines with the sobriety of its ornamentation.

It was manufactured in a transitional period, at the very end of the Jugendstil style. The lines correspond particularly well to the clean, streamlined lines characteristic of the Vienna Secession, as well as the English Arts & Craft style contemporary to it.

We could also relate this model to clocks produced by Serrurier-Bovy, from which it openly draws inspiration. It belongs to the same artistic current.
